Using
design technology from France, the G&B
brand Saxophone, in conjunction with teen performing and recording
artists Gadiz V and Bass G, is trying to break the stereotype
of the saxophone as being an instrument that can only be played
by adults due to the difficulty in mastering it. At the premier
in Indonesia, G&B proudly launched the product by introducing radical new colors,
such as black, green, purple, red and white, which broke from the
traditional saxophone colors.
The premier
focused primarily on the exotic saxophones, such as the Sopranino,
Curved Soprano, Curved End Soprano and Straight Alto. However, there
was also room for the more traditional saxophones, such as the Alto,
Tenor and Baritone saxophones. The G&B saxophone
is a rare combination of centered intonation, agility, user-friendliness
and sophisticated appearance, all at affordable pricing.

Sopranino
The G&B Sopranino, in the key
of E flat, is the smallest instrument in the saxophone family. It’s
one of the key G&B
products. Like other G&B products, it appears larger due to its
combination of intonation and agility. The valves are positioned
so as to allow finger comfort while playing. The G&B
Sopranino is available in black, white, gold, red, and silver. |

Curved
Soprano
The
Soprano with a curved bell (also known as a Baby Sax in Indonesia)
uses a B flat key and has 25 valves (refined by adding F sharp on
the upper register). This combination allows for ‘round tone’,
wherein speed can be produced without sacrificing the soft sound
character. The Curved Soprano is available in black, green, purple
& red, as well as the traditional saxophone colors of gold,
nickel & silver. |

Semi
Curved Soprano
To differentiate
this model from the Straight Soprano and the Curved Soprano, this
G&B
product is better known as ‘the Bass G Soprano’. It’s in the
key of B flat combined with F sharp on the upper register; however,
the curve at the end allows this soprano to produce thicker and
firmer tone than the Straight or Curved Soprano. This saxophone
is available in black, white, gold, purple, red, and silver.

Straight
Alto
This Alto is straight
in order to produce a thicker tone than a conventional alto saxophone.
Like other G&B products, the range on the model becomes obvious
fairly quickly. The ease of producing tone on all the registers,
especially on the altissimo, makes this saxophone ideal for playing
up-tempo. This saxophone is available in black, gold and silver.

What people are saying about G&B
saxophones
|
Gadis
V: The
G&B Baby Saxophone
makes me want to play sax all the time. The small size & shape
made me fall in love immediately. Just keep on blowing. Blowing
is believing. G&B Saxes are cool.
Bass
G: The sopranino and soprano saxophones that I play have
the valve position that fit my small fingers. The G&B
sax colors are all cool, but I chose red for my curved soprano because
that’s my favorite color. It’s definitely cool.
Toto
Bariman: This sax has a very centered tone. The mechanical
design makes it very easy to play and produce a good sound, while
the quality and the finishing touch make the appearance more attractive
and easy to maintain.
Arief
Setiadi: The most dominant quality is the tone that is
produced. G&B saxophones can be used for live performances
or studio recording. Also, it’s really appropriate for playing jazz,
as the tone it produces is a strong jazz element.
Kenny
Jo: The G&B
baby sax is easy to play and the tone is very firm for various types
of music. The G&B sax can be counted on for playing at
fast tempos or for melancholic songs, allowing me to express myself
according to my mood.
Nicky
Manuputty: While playing in my native Holland, I have
tried many brands of soprano saxophones. The G&B
semi curved soprano is simply a must try. It has well defined tone
quality and easy sound production at all registers.
